These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Digital Family Shield (“Digital Family Shield,” “DFS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) website, Free Privacy Scan, privacy protection services, and related services.
By using our website, submitting a privacy scan request, or purchasing or using a service from Digital Family Shield, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our services.

2. Free Privacy Scan
The Free Privacy Scan is intended to help identify personal information that may already be publicly discoverable through sources such as people-search websites, data brokers, breach-related resources, search engines, and other publicly accessible sources.
The Free Privacy Scan is not a comprehensive background investigation, credit check, identity verification service, or guarantee that every instance of your personal information will be identified.
We intentionally limit the sensitive information required to begin a Free Privacy Scan. We do not require your Social Security number, financial account information, credit card information, or a complete current or previous address history to begin the initial scan.
3. Authorization to Perform a Privacy Scan
When you submit a Free Privacy Scan request and provide the required authorization, you authorize Digital Family Shield to use the information you provide to conduct searches for publicly accessible information reasonably related to the requested privacy exposure review.
You represent that:
- The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You are requesting a scan for yourself or have appropriate authority or permission to request the scan for another person.
- You will not use Digital Family Shield to improperly investigate, harass, stalk, impersonate, or obtain information about another person without appropriate authorization.
Digital Family Shield may decline or discontinue a request when we reasonably believe the service is being misused.
4. Privacy Exposure and Removal Limitations
Digital Family Shield cannot guarantee that every instance of personal information about you will be discovered, removed, corrected, suppressed, or permanently deleted from the internet.
Information may:
- Appear on websites or databases we cannot identify.
- Be controlled by third parties.
- Be republished after removal.
- Be retained where permitted or required by law.
- Reappear when third-party databases are refreshed.
- Be unavailable for removal under a website’s or data provider’s policies.
Removal results therefore depend on the source, applicable law, the accuracy of the information available, and the policies and cooperation of third-party websites and data providers.
5. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our services may involve reviewing, accessing, or providing links to third-party websites, search engines, people-search services, data brokers, breach-related resources, and other public sources.
Digital Family Shield does not own or control these third parties and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, content, privacy practices, removal procedures, or decisions.
References or links to third-party services do not necessarily constitute an endorsement.
6. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to provide reasonably accurate information necessary for us to perform the requested service.
You are responsible for reviewing information and recommendations we provide and deciding whether to take any additional actions.

- Obtain information about another person without appropriate authorization.
- Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate another person.
- Commit fraud or identity theft.
- Circumvent security controls.
- Interfere with our website or systems.
- Submit false or misleading information.
- Use our services for unlawful surveillance or investigation.
7. Paid Services
Digital Family Shield may offer paid privacy protection plans and other paid services.
Prices, included features, billing periods, and other applicable terms will be displayed before a customer purchases a paid service.
Services displayed as “Coming Soon” are informational and are not available for purchase until Digital Family Shield makes them available.
When paid recurring services become available, applicable billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be presented before purchase.
8. No Guarantee of Results
Privacy exposure and removal work depends heavily on information and systems operated by third parties.
Although Digital Family Shield will use reasonable efforts to perform the services described, we do not guarantee:
- Complete removal of personal information from the internet.
- Removal from every data broker or people-search website.
- That removed information will never reappear.
- Discovery of every publicly available record.
- Prevention of identity theft, fraud, account compromise, spam, or other misuse of personal information.
- Specific results within a guaranteed period unless expressly stated in writing.
Our services are intended to help reduce privacy exposure and improve awareness; they cannot eliminate all privacy or cybersecurity risks.
9. No Legal, Financial, or Credit Advice
Digital Family Shield provides privacy-related information and assistance.
Our services do not constitute legal, financial, tax, credit, insurance, or other professional advice.
If you require advice concerning your legal rights or obligations, you should consult an appropriately qualified professional.
10. Account and Website Security
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our website, administrative systems, accounts, servers, networks, or other infrastructure.
You may not intentionally introduce malicious software, interfere with website operation, conduct unauthorized security testing, or attempt to circumvent technical protections.
We reserve the right to restrict or block access when necessary to protect our customers, systems, or services.
11. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Digital Family Shield name, branding, website design, original written content, graphics, service descriptions, and other original materials on our website are owned by or licensed to Digital Family Shield and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the website or services.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Digital Family Shield will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of our website or services.
This includes losses resulting from third-party websites, inaccurate public records, reappearance of previously removed information, unauthorized third-party activity, service interruptions, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your unlawful misuse of Digital Family Shield services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights.
15. Privacy
Our collection and handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Submitting information through our website or using our services is also subject to that Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as our services, website, business practices, or legal obligations change.
When material changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms.
Your continued use of the website or services after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
